Daytime Schedule of Events
The public is welcome to watch the daytime performances, free
of charge. No tickets or advanced reservations are required.
All day concerts and student performances during the 2010 festival
will take place at Sullivan Heights Secondary School
and the Bell Performing Arts Centre.
Student Showcases
Music students in Grades 8 - 12 from throughout the Pacific Northwest
will perform for adjudicators in four
jazz categories. Awards and scholarships will be presented to the top
performers during each of the evening performances.

University of BC Jazz Ensemble: Directed by
the jazz icon Fred Stride, the versatile UBC Jazz Ensemble
will perform works ranging from early Duke Ellington to jazz rock fusion.

Capilano University's 'A Band': The A
Band is the premiere large instrumental ensemble of Capilano University's
four-year Jazz Studies degree program. In the past the A Band
has performed with many jazz artists including Cuban pianist Hilario
Duran, trombone player Curtis Fuller, and jazz vocalist Emily-Claire
Barlow.
New This Year - Fat City Swing!
Swing Dance Student Workshop
5:30pm to 6:30pm, Friday February 5th and Saturday, February 6th, 2010
Sullivan Heights Secondary School Gym
Fat City Swing's friendly instructors are coming out to Envision Jazz
to give us an hour long toe-tappin', knee-slapping, finger-snapping,
earthquakin' swing dance workshop. Bring your whole band to this fun
and energetic session! Free to all students wearing the Festival Pass
wristband.
